The French labor market is more flexible than you think

Bonjour La French Tech - The French labor market is more flexible than you think
When it comes to the French labor market, perception is often far from reality.

For this reason, Emmanuelle Wargon, General Director for Employment and Vocational Training (DGEFP), gave an informative presentation explaining in a few clear and sound slides how existing rules foster an effective balance between flexibility and security, and how to best work within those rules.

She gives various examples of initiatives to make the French labor market more flexible along with key information to understand and best employ these initiatives: probationary periods, individual layoffs, terminations by mutual consent and mass layoffs for economic reasons.

Mrs. Wargon concludes her presentation by discussing the impact of the public support of economic growth and innovation through existing schemes and new initiatives like the pact of accountability – which has already generated very positive effects, decreasing the cost of labor and fiscal pressure on firms.
